Biography
David met Robert Webb while President of Footlights at Cambridge University in the late nineties, and they went on to write and perform in shows at Edinburgh.
This led to their own series, The Mitchell and Webb Situation, on Play UK, and jobs writing for Armstrong and Miller, the star-packed Big Train, and Bruiser.
But it wasn't until 2003, when new sitcom Peep Show hit television screens, that David and Robert became well-known names. As Mark Corrigan, David reached out to all those middle-aged men in a twentysomething's body, who believe drugs are boring and systems are necessary if society is to function at all.
On his own, David has appeared as a debased technical wizard on the radio sitcom Think the Unthinkable, as a useless posh surgeon in BBC2 sitcom Doctors and Nurses and as himself in Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive.
He is a doyenne of the panel show circuit, appearing on Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week, Armando Iannucci's Charm Offensive, 8 Out of 10 Cats, QI and Would I Lie to You, and hosting Unbelievable Truth and The Bubble.
The partnership of Mitchell and Webb is still going strong; Peeps Show is now in its 7th series, and the BAFTA award winning That Mitchell and Webb look in its 4th.
He currently set to make us laugh again in Channel Fours new news/comedy show 10 o’clock Live.
He is also working on a book of memoirs; watch this space!
