Steve Cram is one of the World's most successful middle distance athletes of all time in a career spanning three decades since appearing as a 17 year old at the Commonwealth Games in 1978.

In an incredible career, Steve achieved six Gold medals at Commonwealth, European and World Championships and a Silver medal at the 1984 Olympics.

Following his retirement Steve has become a successful television commentator, first with Eurosport and then with Channel 4, before joining the BBC as the Chief Athletics commentator. He has co-presented the 2000 Summer Olympics & 2002 Winter Olympics as well as the Olympic Games in Athens. He has also been a regular contributor to BBC Radio 5 Live including hosting the popular 606 and Sunday Sport shows.

He is chancellor of the University of Sheffield and president of Jarrow & Hebburn Athletics Club.

Steve is an excellent motivational speaker and conference host. He has worked with blue chip clients such as Norwich Union, HSBC, Hewlett Packard and Reebok. Steve Cram is UK ambassador for Atos Origin, the Worldwide IT Partner for the International Olympic Committee.

In 2002, tragedy struck when Steve’s brother died following a fall while jogging. As a result, Steve teamed up with Reebok to launch CramAlertID, a 24 hour emergency response service offering tags or wristbands allowing people to be identified straightaway if they are taken ill or in an accident. CramAlertID has since grown into a bigger venture, now offering identification tags for pets and belongings, and has raised over 1.9 million pounds to date for Steve’s charity COCO.

He starred alongside UK Olympic Gold medalists Sally Gunnell and Adam Eason in BBC's 2006 primetime TV series Run for Glory, helping the runners and participants overcome psychological barriers to running the London marathon. He was voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 1983 and was awarded the MBE in 1986. He remains the UK record holder over the mile, 1500 metres and 2000 metres.

Praise for Steve:

"Steve has a captivating presence and he had the audience spellbound throughout. He is one of the few people who has made the transition from world class sportsman to professional media personality. When he speaks people listen, he has insightful views on a wide range of subjects in the sporting world - and beyond, views which are delivered in a way which shows his extensive knowledge, whilst still demonstrating he is still “one of the people”. A first class presenter, who we would have back anytime."

"Steve was extremely good. Years of being in the spotlight as a runner and especially a commentator have obviously made him a natural at events like these, and he came across very professionally. He was very engaging and witty, made excellent contact with the crowd , was good fun and very entertaining."
