Caribbean Airlines, Trinidad & Tobago (formerly BWIA West Indies Airlines) - Chief Executive Officer
Staff of 1800; 7 aircraft, revenue of US$ 210 million
· Developed and introduced a business plan for the launch of Caribbean Airlines, convincing the Government to follow my recommendation to close the former airline BWIA.
· Led the creation of a new airline entity in 3 months.
· Created a new structure, empowered management team and instigated a Brand led culture change programme delivering improved performance, engaged staff and excellent customer service.
· Delivered on-target financial performance for the airline, through business process re-engineering, outsourcing, and step change commercial practices
· Established an industry leading operational platform in On-Time-Performance, baggage handling, and a customer driven operation.
SN Brussels Airlines, Belgium - Chief Executive Officer
Staff of 2,100; 38 aircraft, revenues of EUR 820 million
· Establishing a consistently profitable airline, connecting Brussels with Europe and Africa in challenging market conditions and against all public expectation.
· Facilitating a complete step change in management style and company culture, resulting in the strongest service ethic in Belgian aviation.
· Developed a unique system of performance management for measuring commercial and financial achievement, resulting in a new generation of empowered management with real accountability.
· Rigorous control of operational and safety standards with particular emphasis on achieving industry leading punctuality performance.
· Generated positive cash flow from a trading position.
· Strong profile as an accessible leader with a clear vision with the company, the media, the investors, throughout the network and with our partner airlines.
DHL Express Systems, USA - Chief Operating Officer, International Americas
Staff of 10,000; 16 aircraft, revenues of $1billion
· Realised a significant turnaround in profitability and increased sales margins from 4% to 12%.
· Achieved synergies with the international DHL group and fully exploited the market potential of the group offering in the Americas and the Caribbean
· Consistently reduced transit times by 24 hours between North and South America, thereby achieving a breakthrough in service commitment to DHL’s customers.
· Introduced financial accountability at country and station level.
· Developed new process and procedural management standards.
· Over a 4 year period, created a new lower cost sales platform achieving net gains of over 60% in revenue.
DHL Express Systems, Belgium - Regional Director, Europe
Staff of 6000, revenues of $800 million
· Established DHL as the leader in express delivery across emerging markets in Central, Southern and Eastern Europe from its infancy and covering all commercial, operational and financial areas.
· Initiated market studies and business cases to build a new infrastructure and network for DHL across Eastern Europe. Developed a bold and strong market position across Europe engendering a strong commercial spirit and sense of pride amongst a completely new team for DHL.
· Introduced financial management accountability and maintained compliance with local regulatory requirements in a rapidly changing world.
· Achieved the highest growth rates of any division within DHL.
· Delivered significantly improved distribution, transit times and a great customer experience in markets with no previous service heritage.
· Recruited and developed a broad management team from many different environments. Fostered a common sense of purpose whilst respecting the unique insight and experience each new manager was able to bring to the team.
DHL Express Systems, UK - Managing Director, United Kingdom

· Introduced financial management accountability.

XP Express Parcel Systems (division of KLM) - Managing Director, United Kingdom
