Biography
With a reputation for credibility based on a durable authority and skilful command of live television, Pamela Armstrong presents corporate videos, provides entertaining after dinner speeches and more serious presentations on the future of communications.
Pamela delivers speeches, seminars and workshops on communication, motivation networking and medical issues success and is sought after by many blue chip companies including British Airways and British Gas.
On the after Dinner front she draws on her media skills to deliver a humorous and engaging speech delving into her experience working with an array of stars.
She came to prominence as anchor on the nightly ITN programme News at Ten, and soon established a reputation for credibility based on a durable authority and skilful command of live television.
After ITN she joined the BBC's national daytime schedules. The Pamela Armstrong Show went out live five days a week in the afternoon and she has also anchored BBC's Breakfast Time and Daytime Live. Currently Pamela is broadcasting on BBC World Service Television, the national and international news network.
Much of her working schedule is devoted to the corporate sector, presenting videos and linking conferences. Her experience is broad and includes clients from Banking, Insurance, Information Technology, Airlines, TECs, Motor Industry, Pharmaceuticals, Telecommunications and Government. Pamela is also noted for her entertaining after dinner speeches as well as her more serious presentations on the Future of Communications.
Pamela's background is in journalism starting with Capital Radio where she presented the daily news and current affairs programme London Today. She also spent six months reporting on Operation Drake the expedition that retraced the round-the-world voyage of the great explorer. She sailed in a square rigged brigantine from Panama to Papua New Guinea taking in the Galapagos, Tahiti and Fiji on the way.
Before News at Ten where she was a main presenter and one of the most popular, Pamela presented two series of the ground-breaking health programme Wellbeing on Channel 4. It was one of the channel's earliest successes where its popular appeal took it to the top of the ratings.
The weight of her work has been in hard news and current affairs with its emphasis on the contemporary, Pamela’s ability and versatility gives her an edge over the competition, whether as a speaker or for linking conferences or other corporate events. Her most recent clients include Digital, Amstrad, Northern Telecom and ICL.
Pamela Armstrong was born in North Borneo, educated in Sarawak, Indonesia and Britain.
