You may recall the last we heard of The Original Stig was his unfortunate exit off the back of an aircraft carrier into the English Channel with only a solitary black glove re-surfacing.
Sometime later ... a bedragled Stig along with his black helmet, was miraculously washed up onto the shores of Hamble ...
Perry McCarthy was invited to the Solent Cup 2013 Event in aid of "Sailing For Cancer". His inspirational and humorous after dinner speech went down a storm with the delegates; this helped to lighten the mood (and no doubt the pockets!) of the audience, raising an enormous sum for this very worthy charity.
Perry will be doing another event for a Cancer Charity, Cancer Research UK later in the month where he will find himself back on the track at Silverstone.
Perry has also been hard at work on the corporate front, being the star attraction for London Gateway UK at Multimodal 2013. As well as having photos taken, signing books and giving a hilarious after-dinner speech in the evening, delegates challenged Perry at the onsite crane simulator to see if his time could be beaten. Perry might have prevailed had the Stig’s Crane Operator cousin not showed up and clinched victory. Watch the video Here
