An Audience with The Red Arrows will be a feature of the Bournemouth Air Festival this year. This is the first time that festival goers will have the chance to hear the pilots’ stories. The show is being held at The Pier Theatre in order to raise money for the Round Table Children’s Wish.
The Red Arrows are renowned throughout the world as ambassadors for both the Royal Air Force and the United Kingdom. Since the team was officially formed in 1965, the Red Arrows have completed over 4,000 displays in 53 countries.
Derek Redmond, former Olympian and World Champion, will be hosting the presentation, followed by a Q&A session. Derek is one of several famous patrons to the Round Table Children’s Wish and is excited about the scale of this event. “I love getting involved in the Round Table Events, but this has got to be the biggest yet”
There will be a luxury prize draw at the after show party which is in the Key West Bar on the end of Bournemouth Pier. Special Red Arrows cocktails will be available all night long as well as a range of BBQ food including a hog roast.
In addition to live music from Samba Panashe, there will be beach games, competitions packed full of fantastic prizes - all donated from local businesses and music until 2pm from Fire Radio DJ; Bournemouth’s very own Jay Rachet.
The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the charity but most importantly funds, as they rely wholly on donations. The aim is to raise in excess of £15k. Red 7, Flight Lieutenant Mike Ling said "The Red Arrows are delighted to support Round Table Children's Wish. We look forward to visiting Bournemouth again, particularly as we are part of such an excellent cause. See you on the Pier!"
The Pilots will be available for photographs prior to the presentation, so arrive early for your chance to get snapped with them and Derek Redmond.
The event is being organised by Bournemouth based Parliament Communications Ltd on behalf of RTCW.
